Venus Vendoures Walsh

As a mother myself, I am so excited to welcome you to the sisterhood! The Scared Pregnancy classes I am bringing to Des Moines will open the door to a community of women like YOU walking this same path. I forged some incredible friendships during the Bradley birth classes I took in preparation for my first child in 2006. Sacred Pregnancy classes would have complimented either pregnancy, I only wish it had been available. Today I have the opportunity to hold that space for you to connect, witness and be heard during your journey.

The second oldest of six girls, I grew up with a strong sense of community and a belief that individuals can make a positive difference in others lives.  It was after the birth of my second child that I realized how much I needed to be part of the birth community and partner to provide women with information and validation that would allow women to trust themselves during pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

I am truly breathing life into my passion to serve women during and after pregnancy by opening Dragonfly Birth Belly. I have recently completed my certification for Sacred Pregnancy and the Art of Sacred Postpartum. If you haven’t had a chance, visit There are some incredible opportunities for you, your partner and children to go on a life changing retreat.

Thank you for visiting. I really hope we get to meet soon. Visit my Facebook page or message me with questions. I am ALL IN for this journey and ready to hold space for you during your journey through pregnancy, birth and motherhood ~ life’s deepest drink!

What is a

Postpartum Doula?

A postpartum doula is a person experienced in childbirth and trained in the art of serving families during the postpartum period. During the next twelve weeks, baby is learning about the world. Baby can see, hear, smell, taste and touch this world, which is as new and fascinating as visiting a foreign land might be for you or me.  It takes time to learn how to communicate and follow the rhythm of this new world.  During this incredible period of growth, having someone outside of the family offer support can provide much needed emotional relief for the entire family.

We offer individualized packages to meet your specific needs that may include bengkung belly binding and other mother roasting traditions. Please contact me to arrange a free consultation and prepare for your babymoon!
